Working Remotely

This is not the "I told you so" moment that I had anticipated and my heart goes out to all of us as this is a global issue.  Earlier this year I envisioned a government mandated remote work scenario based on carbon footprint, talent with the world wide spread of the Coronavirus, companies, organizations, and individuals are opting to work from home. The question is, does your organization have the culture and infrastructure in place to support this? It is often that change is forced upon us like the forging of steel. We now find ourselves with a mandatory change in work style and social behavior.  The organizations that have already embraced the idea of remote workers before finding themselves in a situation where they have little choice, will most definitely have an advantage. These organizations will simply say, Okay, work at home  until further notice. Phones still get answered, meeting still occur, documents are created and collaboration is not missing a step. In case your company did not have the benefit of this foresight I will show you the tools you need in place for a successful remote workforce.

Unified Communications

Unified communications combines your essential communications needs into a single platform including a business phone system, chat, video conferencing, screen sharing and file management. Now, no matter where you workers are located, there is no reason why you can't be as productive as you would be if you were sitting in the same geographical location. A comprehensive solution should provide administrators with easy tools to on-board and off-board workers from anywhere.

Further collaboration tools

Effective and easy to use collaboration tools are another key component of  a successful remote workforce. The ability to create, edit, share, and collaborate with colleges regardless of geography are enabling companies to leverage talent like never before. Even outside the current need to avoid the office due to the spread of COVID 19, companies are increasingly seeking ways to find and retain talent. Collaboration suites like Zoho One, Microsoft Office 365, and Google G suite are becoming a mainstay with SMB's and enterprises alike.

Mobile Friendly Business Apps

There is no reason that most, if not all of your apps shouldn't be mobile friendly. From accounting to HR, to Sales, to I.T. support, to customer service, today's modern apps are mobile friendly and should intuitive to use. Image waiting in a very long line or waiting for flight. Consuming and producing data should be as easy as whipping out your phone for a quick 15 to 20 minute session.

Check out Zoho One for my pick of the best, all around, business suite. I help many of my clients succeed with Zoho's business tools.
